if only empathy were air

if only empathy were air
that we could breathe in deeply;
the words we choose as weapons
wouldn’t spring to hand so cheaply

but hatred – that’s what others do;
we’re pure in all our dealings —
ensconced so safely in the pride
of our distinguished
feelings

Author: Sibelius Russell

Sibelius Russell (a/k/a/ Owen "Beleaguered" Servant) lives a life of whimsical servitude -- whatever that means.
