Nontraditional Seasonal Songs: Forlane from “Le Tombeau de Couperin”

I’ve associated this song with the season ever since I learned to play it at age fourteen. I’m not quite sure why.

This is not me playing this, by the way, it’s a half-century old recording by the pianist Walter Gieseking.
