Quite A Strange Addiction

I’ve known them for awhile now,
And it’s not getting better;
This strange addiction that they have
And carry like a fetter —

They cannot seem to get enough
Of time spent with each other;
You’d think that they’d be over it,
With her a wife, and mother,

And him an aging father, but
They share the same affliction:
To want to be together, so –
It’s quite a strange addiction
